The WP Apex Pro suspension, initially featured on the exclusive KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track, is now available for the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke R and RR models. According to a report by Motorcycle.com, this upgrade brings factory racing-level technology to a broader range of riders.

The Apex Pro line is crafted in Austria, drawing on insights from world-class racers and factory teams. WP emphasizes that each component is engineered and tested to deliver uncompromising track performance, translating race-proven technology into high-performance applications for production motorcycles.

Key Features of the WP Apex Pro Suspension:

  • Apex Pro Fork: Incorporates the same closed cartridge technology used in WP's Factory Racing suspension. This design aims to provide enhanced rider feedback, allowing for later braking, higher corner speeds, and increased confidence at the limit.
  • Tecterra Inner Tube Coating: A major innovation is the introduction of the Tecterra inner tube coating. This surface treatment is claimed to be twice as hard as conventional chrome coatings, significantly improving resistance to wear from dust, sand, and debris. WP claims this results in extended service intervals and consistent damping performance, even under prolonged high-intensity track use.
  • Apex Pro Shock: Designed to deliver superior grip, acceleration, and rear-end stability. The shock is engineered to provide more reserves and safety for later braking, while offering a heightened sense of control for riders to find their limits. The WP Apex Pro shock is developed directly from WP Factory Racing DNA and engineered with the same technologies trusted by championship-winning teams. High-grade precision-milled components ensure durability and accuracy, while integrated mounting points for a potentiometer enable telemetry use and advanced suspension tuning.

The WP Apex Pro system offers extensive adjustability, including high- and low-speed compression damping, rebound adjustment, hydraulic spring preload, and length adjustment to accommodate different riding styles. A wide range of spring rates and the ability to perform fast spring changes allow riders to tailor the suspension setup for maximum feedback, confidence, and performance, according to WP.

The availability of the WP Apex Pro suspension as an aftermarket option allows riders to upgrade their 1390 Super Duke R or RR models with technology previously reserved for the limited-edition Track version. No pricing information was available in the Motorcycle.com report.
