Vespa has announced the release of a new limited-edition model: the Vespa 946 Horse. According to Vespa, this scooter celebrates the Year of the Horse and is part of their Lunar Collection, following previous editions for the Year of the Dragon and the Year of the Snake.
The Vespa 946 Horse features several unique design elements:
- Color Scheme: The scooter is finished in a deep brown “bay” color, intended to evoke the coat of a horse.
- Material Finishes: Contrasting matte and gloss finishes are used on the steel body.
- Golden Accents: Golden details are incorporated, including a V monogram stamped within a horseshoe beneath the saddle.
- Equestrian-Inspired Saddle: The leather saddle is handcrafted by Italian artisans, drawing inspiration from equestrian tack.
- Leather Trim: Premium leather trim adorns the handlebars and rearview mirrors.
In addition to the scooter itself, Vespa is launching the “In Sella” apparel collection. The collection features a new Royal crest graphic, incorporating a horse and dachshund mirrored symmetrically. According to Vespa, the design is inspired by the brand's archival graphics, reinterpreted for a modern style. Key pieces in the collection include:
- A wool varsity jacket with gold embroidery.
- Knitwear such as sweaters, vests, and cardigans featuring the V monogram.
- Sweatshirts and t-shirts with modern interpretations of Vespa themes.
- A poplin shirt with a graphic depicting a man in a Vespa helmet and a horse enjoying an espresso.
- The Vespa Royal blanket in soft wool with a jacquard logo.
According to Vespa, a curated selection of accessories will be available, complementing the scooter’s equestrian style. These include a rear bag made from the same leather as the saddle and a windshield with aluminum supports.
The global pre-order for the Vespa 946 Horse began January 26th on the official Vespa website and at the VESPA THE EMPTY SPACE store in Milan, where the model will also be exclusively on display. The “In Sella” fashion drop also launched on the same date and is available for purchase online and at VESPA THE EMPTY SPACE. According to Vespa, the MSRP for the Vespa 946 Horse is $13,649 USD, with an expected arrival in May 2026.
