KTM has upped the ante in the hypernaked motorcycle world with the introduction of the 2026 1390 Super Duke RR Track. Just weeks after revealing the 1390 Super Duke RR, KTM unveiled this track-only variant, designed for maximum performance on the racetrack, according to a recent article on Motorcycle.com.
The 1390 Super Duke RR Track takes the already potent RR model and strips it down for pure track use. According to KTM, this means removing street-legal necessities like mirrors, lights, and license plate hangers, and ensuring the bike meets FIM racetrack regulations. This is KTM's first foray into a track-only Super Duke.
Here's a breakdown of the key features, according to Motorcycle.com:
- Weight Reduction: The Track model undergoes a significant weight loss program, thanks to additional carbon fiber components, a full titanium Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust, and a modified steel trellis frame with removed mounting points. KTM claims a weight of 390 pounds without fuel, compared to 417 pounds for the standard RR and 441 pounds for the Super Duke R EVO.
- Engine Enhancements: While the 1,350cc LC8 V-Twin engine remains largely unchanged, KTM utilizes lightweight titanium bolts and a race air filter. With new mapping and the Akrapovič exhaust, KTM claims the Track model produces 193 hp at 10,000 rpm (199 hp with ram air at 155 mph) and 111 lb-ft of torque. This is a slight increase over the other 1390 Super Duke variants, which produce a reported 190 hp at 10,000 rpm and 107 lb-ft at 8,000 rpm.
- Premium Suspension: The Track model features a WP Pro 8548 closed cartridge fork, an upgrade over the street-legal model's WP Pro 7548. KTM claims the 8548 offers tighter tolerances, improved feedback, enhanced traction, and reduced tire wear. The fork is fully adjustable, and the lower legs are CNC-machined for a factory look. The rear shock is the same WP Pro 8750 unit found on the street bike.
- Superbike-Spec Brakes: KTM equips the Track model with Brembo GP4-MS monoblock four-piston radial-mount calipers and T-Drive discs. These calipers are machined from solid aluminum and feature integrated fins for heat dissipation. The T-Drive discs use eight T-shaped pins for lighter weight and improved resistance to thermal stress, according to Brembo.
- Wheels and Tires: The 7-spoke forged magnesium wheels are similar to the street RR model, inspired by the KTM RC16 MotoGP bike. However, the Michelin Power GP tires are swapped for Michelin Power Performance slicks.
- Simplified Electronics: KTM has dialed back the electronics suite on the Track model, offering only three ride modes instead of the five found on the RR. Riders can still adjust wheelie control, engine brake control, motor slip regulation, throttle response, and quickshifter settings. The Track model also uses a smaller 4.2-inch TFT display.
The 1390 Super Duke RR Track will be limited to just 100 units, compared to 350 units of the street-legal RR. The article states that the Track model has a base price of £32,999 (US$44,550) in the U.K.
Whether the 1390 Super Duke RR Track will be available in the U.S. is not confirmed.
