Aprilia has announced that its limited-edition X 250TH motorcycle sold out in a mere two weeks. According to Aprilia, all 30 units of the exclusive model were snatched up just 14 days after its announcement on March 27th, ahead of the MotoGP round at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
The X 250TH was created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. The bike features a distinctive 'Stars and Stripes' livery and is the first production motorcycle to utilize carbon-carbon brakes, according to Aprilia.
According to Aprilia, the X 250TH is the sixth model in Aprilia's 'X' series, each incorporating technology derived from the company's racing program. This blurs the lines between production motorcycles and MotoGP prototypes. The X 250TH carried a price tag of $150,000, with 25 of the 30 units allocated to the U.S. market.
Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola stated that the 'X' brand is establishing itself as a highly exclusive expression of Aprilia Racing, offering riders a near-MotoGP experience. He added that the rapid sell-out demonstrates the strength and uniqueness of these models.
Key features of the Aprilia X 250TH, according to Aprilia:
- 'Stars and Stripes' livery
- Carbon-carbon brakes (a first for a production motorcycle)
- MotoGP-derived seat wings
The success of the X 250TH follows a pattern of rapid sell-outs for Aprilia's 'X' series bikes, including the RSV4 X-GP. According to Aprilia, the X series began in 2019 with the RSV4 X, followed by the Tuono X (2020), RSV4 X Trenta (2022), RSV4 X ex3ma (2024), and RSV4 X-GP (2025). These models represent the highest level of technology and performance available on production-derived bikes sold to the public.
The unveiling of the X 250TH at the United States Grand Prix generated significant media attention and social media engagement, further highlighting the appeal of these limited-edition motorcycles, according to Aprilia.
